Raising The Bar

Add a bar to your world with this build, its quick, easy and easily adapted to any situation you have planned.

  The Bar

Whether you're a seasoned drinker or on a blind date, grabbing a drink is a good place to start ,and this build is no different.

Begin by placing a "L" with a block in the top empty corner as shown.
this will form the part of the bar that will prop up your drunkies.

Note: the gap to the right is the entry to the bar, place it on the left if you need to,  just mirror what is shown.

Next, place blocks along the back to fill the gap, this is used to hold your many bottles and glasses you will serve.

To really jazz it up I’ve used brown carpet on the top of the bar this hides the top of the block and allows some colour matching for the rest of your pub/bar you can use any colour you fancy or none at all.

Its time to stock the bar!
stocking the bar is easy, stacking 10 bookshelves in 5x2 (2 rows of 5 blocks) format creates a large array of choice.

Of course its a bar not a library but hang in there its going to look great when we are finished.

Having a place to pour drinks is just as important as having drinks in the first place without either, defeats the point of a bar.

This can be achieved by placing half-slabs in front of the bottom row of bookcases. you could also use whole blocks if you prefer however I found this can make the bar feel a bit claustrophobic.

Its time to enclose the bar from the rest of the pub, no bartender wants anyone serving there own drinks, and Hollywood dictates that a bar can be a great place to fight off a zombie apocalypse.
Half-slabs placed on the top half of the top bookcase creates a 1.5 block gap perfect for holding off drunks and zombies.

Looking Good!

This next step requires a little pre-planning. as it will be using signs all the way around the top half-slabs to advertise things or messages.
There’s nothing as annoying as finding typos in signs after you took ages trying to get your message to fit.

Almost there!
The entrance to the bar is simply a trap door placed in the gap on the side.

You could of course fill it and spawn a villager inside for a barman.

Note: the seating will be covered in another post.

Last step.

To finish up, place tripwire hooks on the bottom bookshelves. This will create the look of drink dispensers, completing the look and feel of a bar.

You are now ready to serve your thirsty customers.

I hope you have enjoyed this build if you found it helpful please +1/share
